KUL05 - SeaFix: Crowd-Sourced Coastal Incident & Triage Platform

Right now, if a fisherman, diver, or tourist sees a big pile of plastic trash, an oil spill, or an abandoned fishing net in the sea, they don’t know who to call. They might post it on social media, but local authorities and cleanup groups almost never see it. The trash just stays in the water.  SeaFix solves this with a simple online reporting system. It works just like a city complaint website, but for the ocean.  When a user sees a problem at sea or on the beach, they open our webpage on their phone. They take a photo of the pollution, select the type of problem (like "Plastic Trash" or "Broken Net"), and upload it along with their phone's GPS location.  During the 48-hour hackathon, we will build this upload form and connect it directly to a live dashboard using Google Looker Studio. Local councils, coast guards, and environmental volunteers will use this dashboard to see a real-time map of all open reports. They can click on a dot, see the uploaded photo, and know exactly where to send their boats to clean it up. Once the cleanup is done, they change the status from "New" to "Fixed."  SeaFix stops people from guessing where pollution is, saves fuel for cleanup boats, and connects everyday citizens directly with the people who can fix the problem.

I will build a webpage for reporting ocean trash with photos and GPS, connected directly to a live tracking map prototype built in Google Studio.
