Small-scale fishermen are often excluded from digital innovations due to their cost, complexity or lack of access. This challenge aims to prototype a simple, low-tech digital solution (mobile app or web interface) that provides these users with visual, practical and actionable marine information derived from Copernicus and other data sources. We envisage a tool based on essential indicators co-constructed with fishermen, enabling the location of favorable fishing conditions and the verification of marine risks. The aim is to help fishermen optimize their trips, improve safety and better understand their fishing environment. The challenge will also explore how fishermen can provide data (e.g. species observed, water quality) to enrich the platforms. The project is rooted in real user needs and will be designed in collaboration with fishermen. The prototype will be tested in a pilot port and could serve as a model for wider adoption in coastal communities.
