The Strait of Gibraltar is a crucial maritime route for the transport of goods, especially hydrocarbons, between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. Numerous vessels, including those transporting oil and gas, transit through it. It also serves as a water exchange point between the two bodies of water. The Strait is a strategic maritime route and Cadiz, with cities such as Algeciras, Tarifa and the city of Cadiz itself, is in a privileged position to influence maritime traffic and economic activity in the area. The aim of this proposal is to evaluate the impact of a potential oil spill on the Cadiz Coast. This could be evaluating: - impact on economy - Impact on marine biodiversity - Physical impact on the coast |
