SPL05: Application to aid sea rescue operations

Create an application that speeds up and optimizes the execution of rescue attempts at sea which in turn increases the chances of survival of parties in need of aid as well as those performing the rescue attempt.
The application would consist of two parts: a quick SOS button for phones which would send out coordinates to relevant organizations and a monitoring application for computers which would simulate potential movement of the party in need of help due to enviromental forces, as well as tracking the movement of rescue service boats.

A prototype of the application(s) based on realistic data as well as a plan of integration with international rescue services.

People who can reliably work with data as well as data structures (programmers or computer scientists), an economist or socio-economist that can develop the proper procedures for implementation of the idea in the real world (relations with the governments).
