      • SAL01 - The Water journey – Innovation and Care in Coastal Sanitation

          • THINK Global: Aligned with SDG 6 and UNEP global frameworks for wastewater management, bringing the responsibility of urban basins to the health of the Atlantic. ACT Local (Bahian Reality): The transition from a linear sanitation model to a circular one is the greatest challenge for Salvador, a city intersected by urban rivers and bordered by the Bay of All Saints (Baía de Todos-os-Santos). The focus is not to remediate what has already reached the sea through canals and outfalls, but to ensure the water cycle is closed on land, preventing any type of pollution or waste of water resources on our beaches.

Connection to the Ocean Decade Challenges:

            • Challenge 1: Understand and beat marine pollution.
            • Challenge 6: Increase community resilience to ocean hazards.
          • What the challenge owner would like to develop over 48h
          • Systemic Vision: How to boost the concept of "Zero Discharge" or the valorization of effluents in the complex urban areas of Bahia?

We are looking for solutions (apps, engagement campaigns, hardware, or management models) that rethink sanitary infrastructure, integrating nature and technology to ensure coastal water security and population well-being.
