The St. Lawrence River is a complex and dynamic ecosystem, rich in scientific data that is essential to understanding and preserving it. However, despite its abundance and diversity, this data often remains difficult to access or invisible to the general public and certain decision-makers. This challenge aims to improve the discoverability of data related to the St. Lawrence by offering innovative and interactive artistic representations. By combining science, technology and creativity, participants will be invited to explore various forms of digital art (interactive visualisations, sonifications, immersive works, augmented reality, etc.) to make scientific data more intuitive, attractive and accessible to all. The ultimate goal is to raise awareness, inform and engage a wide audience, thereby promoting a better collective understanding of the environmental issues related to the St. Lawrence.
FR: Le fleuve Saint-Laurent constitue un écosystème complexe et dynamique, riche de nombreuses données scientifiques essentielles à sa compréhension et à sa préservation. Cependant, malgré leur abondance et leur diversité, ces données demeurent souvent difficilement accessibles ou peu visibles pour le grand public et certains acteurs décisionnels. Ce défi vise à améliorer la découvrabilité des données relatives au Saint-Laurent en proposant des représentations artistiques innovantes et interactives. En alliant science, technologie et créativité, les participants seront invités à explorer diverses formes d'art numérique (visualisations interactives, sonifications, œuvres immersives, réalité augmentée, etc.) pour rendre les données scientifiques plus intuitives, attrayantes et accessibles à tous. L'objectif final est de sensibiliser, informer et engager un large public, favorisant ainsi une meilleure compréhension collective des enjeux environnementaux liés au Saint-Laurent.
