      • Ocean Hackathon® 2022: launch of the call for challenges

      • This year, the 7th edition of the Ocean Hackathon® initiative will take place from 2 to 4 December 2022.
The call for projects is open until July 3rd 2022 to take part in this digital marathon: 48 hours non-stop to develop a prototype from digital data relating to the sea and to think about its use. It is intended for individuals or legal entities.
This call for challenges will determine the projects on which the teams will be positioned in the 15 participating cities.
At the end of the event, organised simultaneously on 5 continents, a team will be designated in each city to present a pitch at the international competition to be held in Brest.
You can find out more about Ocean Hackathon® and the data partners involved during a webinar on 19 May.
      • A beneficial challenge for a user of the sea

        • Do you have an idea that would benefit a user of the sea?
        • Do you have a more mature project that needs a boost or a beneficial expertise?

Develop an innovative prototype in a team to respond to a current problem. The objective is to find solutions for a sustainable ocean.

        Provision of free data

        • During the event, a wide range of data will be made available: nautical charts, photos, seabed and nature of the seabed, legal aspects and maritime safety, location of cables, wrecks, landmarks, tides, water levels, oceanographic forecasts, biology, pollution, ecology, physico-chemistry, coastline, maritime activities, satellite data, etc.
        • The fields are varied, for example: oceanography, aquaculture, fishing, positioning at sea, maritime safety, boating, tourism, marine energy, transport, the environment, mediation and education, art and design, etc.
        • More information about the data partners
        • Challenge holders can also provide their own dataset.
