The European Maritime Days have been organised since 2008 by the European Commission (DG MARE). For this 2022 edition, which took place on 19 and 20 May, the city of Ravenna, the region of Emilia-Romagna and the Italian Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport hosted the event, which brought together nearly 2,000 participants, of which around 700 attended.
Amongst those present, Brest métropole, Ifremer, Pôle mer Bretagne Atlantique, France Haliotis and Technopôle Brest-Iroise were present in Ravenna to take part in conferences, workshops and BtoB meetings.

This edition in Italy was also an excellent opportunity to connect even more with the DG MARE teams of the European Commission in order to better understand the organisation of the 2023 edition in Brest!

For the first time since the launch of the EMDs in 2008, France, and Brest in particular, will host the EMDs, further demonstrating the attachment of Brest and Brittany to Europe and the European recognition acquired by the territory in the development of marine sciences and technologies.
The Campus, in support of Brest Metropole and the Region of Brittany, will notably aim to mobilise and coordinate the presence of its community during the EMD 2023. We will organise a first information-sharing meeting around October.
