The Roscoff Culture Collection (RCC) is one of Europe’s leading resources dedicated to the conservation and distribution of marine microorganisms. Hosted at the Roscoff Biological Station in Brittany and jointly managed by Sorbonne University and the CNRS, it brings together nearly 12,000 strains of marine microalgae, macroalgae, protists, bacteria and viruses.
Beyond its mission to preserve marine biodiversity, the RCC makes these biological resources available to the scientific community, thereby supporting research in marine biology, ecology and biotechnology. The collection is part of the EMBRC-France and EMBRC research infrastructures, the European network dedicated to the study of marine biological resources.
