The ambition here is that these young researchers (doctoral students and post-docs), in advisory groups, can bring the vision of the younger generation to bear on the themes addressed at the Summit. To this end, these thematic groups will be consulted remotely prior to the Summit. Their contributions will be summarised and presented during the One Ocean Summit workshops in Brest from 9 to 11 February.
In order to build on this momentum, based on the results of this remote consultation and participation in the OOS thematic workshops, a contribution to the United Nations Decade of Ocean Sciences for Sustainable Development could be presented at the United Nations Ocean Conference to be held in Lisbon in June 2022.
