On the afternoon of 10 December, keep your diary free: the Ocean Hackathon® Grand Finale will be held at Océanopolis (Brest, France). A truly emblematic venue, as France's National Centre for Scientific Culture dedicated to the Ocean will open its doors, along with its brand-new tropical pavilion, to host this international competition.
A Pitch Contest featuring the 11 winning teams from the local editions of this 100% data-and-sea hackathon. Coming from all four corners of the globe, they will represent Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Chennai (India), Galle (Sri Lanka), Toulon (France), Olhão (Portugal), Brest (France), Cork (Ireland), Peniche (Portugal), Santa Cruz de Tenerife (Spain), Salvador (Brazil) and Victoria (Canada). So many different cultures, backgrounds and areas of expertise, brought together by a shared vision: harnessing data, innovation and creativity to help preserve the ocean.
On stage, each team will have just a few minutes to pitch their project, convince the jury and, who knows, make it onto one of the three steps of the podium. A challenge in which the quality of the ideas must be matched by a genuine talent for communication.
Whether you are a sea enthusiast, curious about innovation, an entrepreneur, researcher, student or simply a lover of great collective stories, this international finale is made for you. You will be able to discover innovative projects driven by motivated teams, exchange with the key players of the data-and-sea ecosystem, and share the excitement alongside the finalists.
Come along in numbers to cheer on these teams from around the world!
