In order to monitor marine litter on beaches, the methodology of counting each individual items and manually entering the recorded data into the monitoring sheet has been used so far.
Developing a marine litter monitoring application, based on a unified protocol at EU level, that will apply to beaches that meet certain monitoring criteria will allow faster and easier collection of data needed to monitor the state of the marine environment with regard to pollution.
The application will include the identity of the beach, which will remain recorded so that systematic monitoring can be carried out, and the application will contain all the items covered by the protocol, and they can be added. After the platform is made, it will be conducted on the field as an efficiency test.
