Employees of La Rochelle marina have to clean the various basins regularly because of the floating waste that accumulates there regularly. This waste comes from the ocean, when the gate (lock) of the trawler basin is opened.
The aim is to find a system to block, direct and finally pick up waste at the lock when it opens. At each tide, day or night, the system must not interfere with the operation of the lock or the passage of boats.
A floating dam with a net skirt could attach to the door and deploy with an arm when the lock is opened. The waste would be trapped and then with the current directed to an area dedicated to collection. The dam would re-wrap to the side at the full opening of the door.
The waste would then be transported ashore by means of a conveyor.
