GUINARD-ENERGIES-NOUVELLES is a french start-up located in Brest and specialised in compact tidal turbine design. Leading energy projects requires to rely on efficient tools to get a prompt site characterization for tidal turbine setting up.
Consequently, GUINARD-ENERGIES-NOUVELLES needs an easy handling software, able to open, process, visualize and analyse bathymetric and hydrodynamic datasets. The first-version of a graphical user interface nammed GUIHOME was developed during a 3-month internship and supplies several visualization tools such as: 2D cartographic views, surface profiles along polylines, temporal graphs and animations for speed flow studies. Finally, an algorithm dedicated to location research delivers to the user an assistance to choose the optimum place in order to set up the tidal turbine, assuring structure stability and energetic performance.
In this respect, we want to improve and expand GUIHOME features in order to make it even more user-friendly.
