      • Welcoming an Indian delegation to Brest on the sidelines of the 2nd Knowledge Summit
      • On the initiative of the Ecole Navale, Campus mondial de la mer organised on 14 and 15 October in Brest, a programme of visits for an Indian delegation composed of representatives of the following institutions: The Energy and Resources Institute, National Institute of Industrial Engineering, National Maritime Foundation, Central Institute of Fisheries Technology and National Institute of Ocean Technology.

This programme of visits was built as part of the second Knowledge Summit held on 17 and 18 October in Lyon. The first edition of the Knowledge Summit made it possible to formalize, through the signature of a letter of intent, the cooperation between Campus mondial de la mer, Naval group India and the Indian Institute of Technology in Goa (IIT Goa).

Marine science and technology among the priorities for Franco-Indian cooperation

French President Emmanuel Macron and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi have expressed their intention to encourage the development of bilateral exchanges in the fields of higher education and research. In parallel, the importance of marine science and technology was highlighted in August 2019 in the joint statement during the Indian Prime Minister's visit to France.

        Focus on Cedre's visit

The delegation was welcomed on the morning of 15 October at Cedre's premises. After attending several presentations by local stakeholders, the delegation was able to visit Cedre's facilities with a particular focus on the analysis laboratory, the Polludrome®, the anti-pollution equipment showroom and the artificial beach with its technical platform used for training. The delegation was thus able to attend an ongoing training exercise on the operational management of oil pollution.

Visit to Cedre by the Indian delegation

Among the other actors met on 14 and 15 October: Ecole Navale, Pôle mer Bretagne Atlantique, Ifremer, IxBlue, UBO/IUEM, Station Biologique de Roscoff, Cedre, France Energies Marines, ENSTA Bretagne, Shom, ISEN, IMT Atlantique and ENIB.
