      • TOU11 - 3D glasses for underwater exploration

          • As part of the modernization of Ifremer’s remotely operated underwater vehicles, new stereoscopic cameras will facilitate operations thanks to the 3D representation of the environment. In order to take full advantage of this new equipment, we would like to develop a 3D display in the submarine’s control container, equipped with a standard 60Hz refresh display.

            The proposed challenge is to realize a proof of concept of 3D visualization using active shutter glasses, which must be synchronized with the screen. We will provide a programmable active glasses solution (Arduino) as well as stereoscopic data and the project team will be responsible for developing the software part. This system will allow ultimately to visualize in real time the operations in 3D and facilitate the remote handling.
