      • SET12- Zero discharge objective: reduce impacts, optimize energy in marine aquaculture farming

          • Currently, a marine aquaculture farm, even in a closed circuit, renews every day a volume of water equivalent at best to 5 to 10% of its total volume.

            This need for water generates a significant environmental impact: consumption of water from the natural environment, consumption of energy for pumping, stabilization of physico-chemical parameters, management of health risks, and discharge of wastewater into the natural environment. The objective of our challenge is to determine the most promising alternative methods applicable to aquaculture farms and to write specifications for the experimentation and development of an innovative breeding circuit.

            New technologies will be developed in association with an automated predictive system. The breeding circuit resulting from the project will reduce the consumption of inputs and the production of rejects, and will improve animal welfare by guaranteeing better stability of physico-chemical parameters and controlled management of pathologies.
