      • BRE12 - Creation of a tool to anticipate offshore seaweed blooms in the bays impacted by massive stranding

          • We want to act as part of the fight against massive strandings of green algae. The object of this challenge is the creation of a tool for the short-term spatio-temporal anticipation of offshore green algae blooms upstream of growth peaks in the main bays impacted by massive stranding.

This tool will make it possible to anticipate the blooms of green algae at sea by several days in advance. It will allow the integration of selected types of qualitative and quantitative data which can be weighted and be the subject of several simulations in parallel so as to define the best predictive model and develop it.

Experience shows that each growth spot has specificities that are not necessarily reproducible depending on the spot, that's why we want to create a specific model for each of them. The four spots in French Brittany to be favored for this challenge are : The bay of Saint-Brieuc, the bay of Lannion, the bay of Douarnenez and the bay of Concarneau.
This modeling approach should make it possible to deal with other spots, and even other forms of proliferation.
